When Real"1"ty Checks disappeared I thought you'd given up on blogging. Glad to see you haven't.

Excellent pictures, and you definitely picked the right time of year to go to Death Valley. The last time I was there was May of '01 and it was 125F in the shade at the Chevron in (aptly named) Furnace Creek.

I've always thought it would be fun to ride through DV at night (with all 300W of lights going at once, of course).

Clicked over from Joy's blog. Awesome pics. I do envy the weather you have in Cali....blue skies, warm days.

How do you like to ST1300? I've been thinking of getting a sport touring bike myself...

Thanks for the info on the ST. One more question...that nice blue sleeping pad you have- is that a therm-a-rest? let me know which model and how you like it! Thanks....I'm always looking for gear advice!
